Starting NEET in Class 11: what the syllabus covers and what past papers tested

If you are in Class 11 and preparing for NEET, this page gives you a week-by-week path through the Class 11 lessons on this site, and answers three questions from sources you can check: which parts of the NEET syllabus your Class 11 NCERT books teach, which Class 11 chapters past NEET papers asked about most, and how the lessons and past questions here line up with your school year. It makes no promise about marks or ranks.

Your week-by-week path

All 272 Class 11 lessons on PrepBrix (Physics 130, Chemistry 83, Biology 59), each subject in NCERT chapter order, spread over 36 weeks so the three subjects move together, as they do at school: about 8 short lessons a week. The pace is a suggestion for a 36-week school year that leaves the last weeks for revision; follow your school's order if it differs. A tick means you opened that lesson in this browser (no login), not that you have mastered it.

What the NEET syllabus covers from Class 11

The syllabus lists 50 units by subject (20 Physics, 20 Chemistry, 10 Biology). It does not label any unit Class 11 or Class 12. The split below is ours: for each unit, it counts which NCERT book the PrepBrix lessons on that unit cite. By that count, 24 units are taught from the Class 11 books, 22 from the Class 12 books, 2 from both, and 2 from the NCERT lab manuals.

A Class 11 student today sits NEET in 2028. The 2026 syllabus is the latest NMC notice we have read (as of 26 September 2026); check nmc.org.in for the notice for your exam year.

Class 11 chapters past NEET papers tested most

We placed each of the 1,131 past NEET questions on this site (2020–2026) in the NCERT chapter it comes from: by the question's own NCERT reference where we have checked one, otherwise by the chapter of the lesson it is filed under. 515 landed in Class 11 chapters and 554 in Class 12 chapters, 48% and 52% of the 1,069 placed. 62 could not be placed in a textbook chapter and are left out.

Questions per year in the set: 2020: 124, 2021: 127, 2022: 187, 2023: 179, 2024: 179, 2025: 157, 2026: 178. That is one test-booklet code per year, not every question of every paper (2026 is the 21 June re-examination). NEET sets more Biology questions than Physics or Chemistry, so compare chapters within a subject.

• Past questions with every lesson. A lesson lists the past NEET questions on its own topic, with the year and the official answer. The practice page has the full set by subject.
• NCERT Biology, line by line. The NCERT line-by-line hub shows the Biology lines NEET questions were answered from, with the printed page and the questions.
• A full paper, once you have covered both years. The NEET (UG) 2026 re-exam walkthrough explains all 180 questions; it includes Class 12 topics.
• Your mistakes come back. A question you get wrong is saved to your revision and asked again tomorrow, in 3 days and in 7 days.
• Timed practice. The timed sectional test runs real past-paper questions at NEET pace, one minute each.
• Mistakes are logged. Any correction to a lesson, answer or citation goes in the corrections log with its date.

Which syllabus does this page use?

The Syllabus for NEET UG-2026, notified by the National Medical Commission (NMC), Under Graduate Medical Education Board on 22 December 2025 (Public Notice No. U-14023/19/NEET (UG Exam)/UGMEB). It lists 50 units by subject and does not say which are Class 11 and which are Class 12. Check nmc.org.in for the notice for the year you sit the exam.

Does NEET ask more from Class 11 or Class 12?

In our bundle of 1,131 past NEET questions (2020–2026), 515 come from Class 11 NCERT chapters and 554 from Class 12 chapters (48% and 52% of the 1,069 we could place in a textbook chapter). 62 more could not be placed in a textbook chapter.
